INSTALLATION OF THE CUP-SYSTEM AT “NEW LEVEL 2006” FARM, UKRAINE

The farm “New Level 2006” has about 1500 sows of prolific Danish genetics Breeders (DanBred), which on average produce more than 16 piglets per farrow. The main task of each owner is to preserve the piglets, increase the number of weaned piglets, and sell as many market pigs as possible, which directly affects the economic performance of the farm. To achieve these goals, it is necessary to use innovative technologies, such as the cup-system. This decision was made by the farm owner to achieve these objectives.

Already in the first month of the cup-system’s operation, significant improvements were noticeable. According to product manager Oleksandr Havenko, the weight of piglets at weaning increased by 0.5 kg and now stands at 6 kg, and the number of weaned piglets per sow per farrow increased by 0.5 piglets and now stands at 14 piglets per sow. Consultant Viktor Lototsky noted that after the installation of the cup-system, the number of “foster” sows decreased, as the piglets have free access to dairy products 24 hours a day.

Roman Mormul, Senior Manager of the Western Division, emphasised that the farm has improved its production performance, including sow utilisation, piglet survival, number of piglets per sow, and piglet weaning weight. And our company has once again confirmed its status as a reliable partner, working together with customers to improve technological and business performance.
