The Dairy Farming Industry 2026 forum, organized by The Ukrainian Farmer, has traditionally served as an important platform for AVA Group to engage with clients, partners, and industry colleagues. Held on March 11–12 in Lviv, the event once again brought together the professional community around the current challenges of dairy farming through discussions, experience sharing, and informal meetings with partners and clients.
One of the most dynamic parts of the forum was the panel discussions focused on the current challenges facing the farming sector, particularly the decline in raw milk purchase prices. Experts identified the excessive milk supply on the market and the sharp drop in global butter prices as the main reasons for the loss of profitability among dairy farms. Since a significant share of milk is processed into butter, the decrease in butter prices automatically reduced processing profitability, which in turn immediately caused a drop in milk purchase prices for farmers. Under such conditions, finding truly valuable solutions becomes especially difficult; however, maintaining herd health and ensuring productivity at the beginning of lactation always remain key priorities.
This year, the RumTeam focused on strategies for preventing hypocalcemia during the transition period. In our presentation, we shared insights based not only on international research but also on the practical experience of our team, which has successfully implemented numerous approaches on Ukrainian dairy farms.
The main message of the presentation was simple yet extremely important: there is no universal strategy that works equally effectively on every farm. Each operation requires an individual approach that takes into account housing conditions, feeding programs, management practices, and herd characteristics.
Traditionally, the AVA Group booth attracted considerable attention thanks to the Kexxtone product, which consistently generates strong interest among visitors and serves as a catalyst for active professional discussions.
Participation in the forum also provided an opportunity to better understand current market sentiment directly from technologists and farm representatives, who today are forced to adapt quickly to the challenging realities of the modern dairy business.
