Dr. Robert Van Saun is a Professor of Veterinary Science in the Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences at The Pennsylvania State University. He has been a part of the faculty since 2000 and previously worked at the Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has practiced veterinary medicine in New York, Michigan, and Oregon. For more than 20 years, he has been advising dairy farms in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and has experience in other Eastern European countries. Robert Van Saun specializes in ruminant nutrition and reproduction, as these two factors are the most important for dairy farms. The main area of research of the professor is metabolic changes in the transition period and their impact on the health, productivity and reproduction of cows.
